Welcome to our "Donate for Art" Program
The Donate for Art program has been launched to pursue 3 goals:
a. To support the financing of the Almarte project as a whole.
b. To promote local artists and their communities.
c. To conduct research on the post-capitalist order.
Therefore, the guidelines for this program are as follows:
1. All products are created by artists who are part of Almarte or in partnership with Almarte, what inclued a close alignment of shared values.
2. that the Products are also sold through independent distribution channels, and Almarte supports artists and communities in building these channels so they can operate independently from Almarte.
3. All products in the entire value chain are fair trade, meaning that people and the environment involved in the value creation process benefit and that we give back more than we take.
4. In product development, self-expression or the positive impact on users takes precedence over profit-making.
5. We follow a new approach to distributing art while exploring post-capitalist systems. Offering the art piece for ordering without a set price, and then shipping it once ordered, is our try to challenge traditional notions of commerce and exchange. Trust-based cultures and non-monetary transactions can certainly offer insights into alternative economic models. the Power Bracelets from the Colombian jungle
The idea for these Power Bracelets came to Sascha Stockem after attending an Ayahuasca ceremony in the Colombian jungle. There, he simply followed his intuition and began working with local artists of indigenous descent to create bracelets, either with Gemstones. After half a year of intensive exploration with hundreds of Gemstones and astrology, individual Power Bracelets were created for each of the 12 zodiac signs.
Each bracelet contains the main stone of the zodiac sign in the center, highlighting the superpower or quality of the zodiac sign, as well as two support stones on either side representing qualities that the respective zodiac sign often needs to work on.
Today, the bracelets are handcrafted by a local community in one of the poorest districts in Bogota under very fair conditions in order to help families out of poverty and violence.
Donation Principles
Since we haven't yet established a legal organization and the legal preparations for forming a cooperative are still underway, Sascha Stockem currently serves as the recipient of all donations. He is also financing all of Almarte's activities from his personal funds, which includes paying the artists and manufacturing communities participating in the "Donate for Art" program.
Additionally, Sascha Stockem commits to declaring all donations in accordance with relevant tax laws and paying applicable taxes on them.
The most significant expense Almarte currently faces is funding travel and educational costs. All the knowledge we've gained on our journey is shared for free in our "Open Knowledge Blog"
